Why this workshop?
Because great leadership, great planning and great teamwork ALWAYS start with a shared vision, a clear purpose and a collection of meaningful values.
Everyone knows the importance of planning for success… it’s not a new concept. We’ve all seen the successes of individuals and organisations that have followed their dreams and worked single-mindedly to achieve their goals. Indeed, it could be said that every organisation ever conceived commenced with at least one person’s passionate vision for success.
Yet, unfortunately, so many people get so caught up in the day-today running of their organisation that they are in danger of losing their passion, their sight of the all-important vision, and becoming more ‘operational’ than ‘inspirational’. They spend too much time ‘doing’ and not ‘thinking’ about why and how they’re doing it. They get so bogged down with day-to-day activities that they don’t regularly assess how they may be able to operate better and more efficiently. Worst of all, many organisations are made up of people who each have a different view of the organisation’s vision, purpose and objectives, if any at all, and therefore work towards different and sometimes conflicting goals. In this scenario, the chances for success are limited.
The creation of vision, mission and values for an organisation, department, association, work unit—in fact, any collection of people wishing to succeed in a common goal—is one of the most influential pieces of work in the strategic planning process. It allows stakeholders to proactively set their destiny, rather than be ‘carried along’ by chance. It requires them to step outside their day-to-day activities, to visualise and agree on the ideal position that their organisation or group will be in the future, and set the ground rules for what they will need to do and how they will need to behave—as individuals and as teams—to get there.
Historical evidence shows that organisations with documented mission statements are almost 30 percent more likely to succeed and be profitable than those without. This workshop will help swing those odds in your favour.
