Workshop outcomes
This highly interactive and collaborative workshop is designed to create the vision, mission and values for your organisation, work unit or group that will truly resonate with all participants. Not only does it produce a concrete snapshot of a future that the group can share and work towards, but it serves as an effective way to achieve advocacy from everyone involved. This is one of the most valuable outcomes of the exercise, as it creates motivation towards the group's vision, mission and values, and helps reduce resistance to any changes required to achieve them.
A critical part of the workshop—the vision, mission and values evaluation exercise—generates valuable anonymous information from all participants that identify gaps between where the group is now and where it wants to be. The issues and opportunities that arise from this exercise can be fed into the strategic planning process to ensure all future activities are aligned with the big picture vision of the group.
- Vision, mission and values statements agreed by all participants that create a shared view of the group's desired future, a shared purpose to inspire all stakeholders, and rules of behaviour that set the ground rules for a proactive and purposeful future.
- Anonymous feedback by all participants on how the organisation currently performs in each element of the vision, mission and values and why any gaps exist (a consolidated view of the group's current position and its future priorities).
- A collection of issues and opportunities stemming from the feedback plus possible ways to address them (which can then be fed into the strategic business objectives process).
- Ideas created by participants on how to reinforce the group's commitment to its vision, mission and values on an ongoing basis.
